In 2021, we joined the Better Business Act coalition where we stand alongside over 750 other UK businesses in the campaign to change UK law to ensure that company directors are responsible for advancing the interests of shareholders alongside those of wider society and the environment.
Our status as a legal consultancy enables us to stay responsive, helping you to manage and identify risks in key areas and passing on the savings from our lean organisational structure in the form of fixed fee services.
We’ve aligned our services with the growth journey of our clients, so you can see the support we provide at funding, scaling and exiting. We can provide advice on a specific area such as trademarks or data protection or in stage-specific packages. Meet our Founder – Bill Cogan
We understand the journey our clients are going through with their business, as we’re a founder-led venture ourselves. Bill started Seven Legal to offer an alternative to the traditional law firm, providing high growth ventures with timely, practical and stage-specific legal advice.
Operating in family businesses from an early age, Bill has always viewed legal advice as a technical skill to assist (not participate) in decision-making.
Bill is a dual-qualified lawyer as a Solicitor of England & Wales and Attorney-at-law of the State of New York. He completed his LLM at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law following an undergraduate at University College Dublin where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Law. He is a speaker at entrepreneurial programmes in London run by London & Partners, Imperial College and Enterprise Ireland.

As a 1% for the Planet ® member we donate 1% of our annual sales to environmental initiatives. 1% for the Planet is a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual membership and everyday actions.
A climate positive legal consultancy
As well as our commitment to environmental giving as a 1% for the Planet member, we’ve also been working with Ecologi to become a climate positive legal consultancy.
